A Williams, Canada - Apr 2019

French course - 15 lessons - elementary-advanced levels

I had a very positive experience with GoLearnTo, with the language school, and loved the city of Lyon!

French course - 21 lessons - elementary-advanced levels

My host family and the staff at the school couldn't have done more to make me feel welcome, and the quality of the teaching was excellent. I hope to come back again soon!

C Broni, Lyon - Nov 2018

French course - 21 lessons - elementary-advanced levels

Great tuition though lacking social events

Reply from Supplier: Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry to hear there weren't as many social events as you would have hoped. The winter months generally have less students and some events require a minimum number to run. However, we will be sure the school get your feedback with the view to planning more events for small numbers. Happy to hear the tuition was excellent! - The GoLearnTo team

French course - 15 lessons - elementary-advanced levels

Love the friendly casual atmosphere and that the teachers allow you to participate without judgement. They were professional and kept the learning going. I wanted to see how it was and am definitely thinking of going back as the family I stayed with were fantastic. They really made the package!

L Read, Sheffield, United Kingdom - Apr 2018

French course - 15 lessons - elementary-advanced levels

I absolutely loved this experience. I initially felt a bit nervous about going away on my own to learn French, especially as my level was elementary at best. However I needn't have been because everyone I met was so warm and friendly. I'd definitely recommend this to francophiles!

K J Mackie, Lochgelly, United Kingdom - Sep 2017

French course - 15 lessons - elementary-advanced levels

The class was very well organised and concentrated on relevant daily topics of conversation incorporating grammar and vocabulary. But I must add that I found talking very difficult and felt quiet foolish and out of my depth, this aspect may be worth considering before committing.

Kent, UK - Aug 2017

French course - 21 lessons - elementary-advanced levels

A truly excellent way of learning the language. Great teacher and the course was well paced.

V Minichiello-Price, Glemsford, United Kingdom - May 2017

French course - 21 lessons - elementary-advanced levels

I found it very useful that the school also organised additional 'tutorat' classes, which allowed students to develop a particular grammar point, or practise their conversation outside of the usual timetable.

A Eldridge, London, UK - May 2017

French course - 15 lessons - elementary-advanced levels

My teacher Nicolas was excellent. The administration at the school not very well organised. I would be happier with more cultural activities. But it was a good experience in beautiful Lyon.

Reply from Supplier: Thanks for your feedback. We will make sure to pass it on to the school so they can improve things in the future. Great to hear you loved your experience!

E Robinson, Bazas, France - Mar 2017

French course - 21 lessons - elementary-advanced levels

I am not sure where the 25 lessons comes from. There were 2 lessons per day starting at 1.30pm -ending at 5.30pm. The school is small and friendly and lessons are interactive and fun. The accommodation en famille did not match the high standard of the school.

Reply from Supplier: Thank you for your feedback! 25 lessons refers to 25 x 45 minutes which the school may break up or put together to create longer lessons. We are happy to hear you enjoyed your lessons and will be sure to pass on your feedback regarding accommodation. Merci beaucoup!

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed my week at Lyon Bleu - I wish I had booked for a fortnight. My classmates were from all over the world and created a supportive learning environment. Audrey our teacher was excellent. And Lyon is a fantastic city.

R Richman, Wembley, United Kingdom - Sep 2012

Learn French and gastronomy course

We liked the school. We enjoyed the course and our group. Our two tutors were delightful and conscientous. However, we felt that we could have covered more ground. The cuisine part was great fun but could be better organised and covered more and delivered a bit more.

E Erwin, Bangor, Northern Ireland - Jul 2012

Beginners French course - 25 lessons

Had a wonderful time, staff very friendly and helpful. The classes increased my confidence in consructing phrases and questions in French. Lyon is a lovely city to visit, big enough to be interesting yet small enough to easily move around.

M ('Mike') PROCTER, 2 Archers Close, Swaffham Bulbeck,, UK - Jul 2012

Learn French and gastronomy course

Language course: Content was mostly about the right level in theory, but delivery of oral instructions and tuition was often too fast and difficult to understand (for me)- which subtracted from the overall usefulness of the course. 'Cooking' is not a very accurate description of the other part of the course. 'Cuisine' in the wider sense, perhaps? There was only one hands-on cooking lesson, but there was an 'about cheese' session with tasting and a local recipe demo, a guided city tour, and a trip to the market (a guided tour, not a treasure hunt). There was also a meal at a traditional restaurant, which was included (not cost extra as per your info). I thought this was all very good, so this isn't a complaint - just an observation that your course info differs from reality. There was quite a lot of slack time in the day, but whilst more course-work would have been possible, it was nice to get out and explore. My accommodation was good and very central. The central position was fun

R Matthews, Dublin, Ireland - Jun 2012

Beginners French course - 25 lessons

The course was great, but to get the full benefits, I would have had to go for more than just 1 week. Thoroughly enjoyed the chance to explore Vieux Lyon though!

Z Ngobeni, Johannesburg, South Africa - May 2012

French course - 15 lessons - elementary-advanced levels

The course was good. The only thing I was unhappy about was the accomodation. The home were I was staying was too far from the school. I had to walk for 20mins, then take a two train and then walk for 10 min again. It was impractical and I ended up shortening my stay.

Z Ngobeni, Johannesburg, South Africa - May 2012

French course - 15 lessons - elementary-advanced levels

The Home learning course was fantastic. The quality of the course content was great, and catered to my specific needs as beginner learner. My Host and her family were excellent, perfect hosts. They made sure that I was comfortable at all time. I felt at home!

J Burden, Chippenham, United Kingdom - Apr 2012

French course – 21 lessons per week - elementary-advanced levels

Overall experience rated only 4 star as I didnt get on too well with the person I travelled out with - clearly nothing to do with you. Learning experience, really good but theres only so much French you can take ... I did get 'Frenched out' with a headache at the end! However, I loved Lyon, the school, my accommodation and the friendliness of my family. I could easily repeat the experience!

a bull, Edinburgh, UK - Oct 2011

Beginners French course - 25 lessons

The Lyon language school is a particularly well run school. I have attended courses in Paris and Toulouse but this was the best by far with excellent teaching and professional staff. The workshopes were highly relevant and the lesson length was ideal for keeping and maintaining attention

D Ruston, Teddington, England - Aug 2011

Learn French and gastronomy course

Teachers at school are lovely, professional & friendly. The cookery 'course' is two classes. In retrospect I would say that I would have wanted to have more actual French courses (as well as the cooking), 2 hours a day not enough. Beware the residence by Sax Gambetta - it is a dodgy area.

Reply from Supplier: Hello, thank you for your feedback we’re pleased you liked the courses but we were surprised to hear you didn’t like the area as we usually receive excellent feedback for the residence. "Saxe Gambetta" is situated in a lively neighbourhood, which is culturally and socially mixed. Universities are close by and there are a lot of restaurants etc. It is a safe area which we can really recommend and which our students usually enjoy a lot so we’re very sorry you didn’t enjoy the area. Thank you again.

K Nilsson, Macgregor, Australia - Jan 2010

French course – 21 lessons per week - elementary-advanced levels

I had a blast. Living with a French lady and having dinners together was amazing for my french skills. The fact that the other students were around my age meant for numerous fun nights out and social activities.

Well organised, great people, excellent host family. Would recommend!

H Blanchett, Australia - Mar 2009

French course - 15 lessons - elementary-advanced levels

I loved that the lessons were conducted completely in French, it was an exelent challenge. I would've liked to have been in classes for longer as I was travelling alone and didn't have a whole lot to do from the time classes finished at 11am. Overall a great experience. Thanks!

Reply from Supplier: Thanks for the great comments. You booked just 15 French lessons per week, we also offer 25 French classes per week (can be booked with GoLearnTo.com now) which finish at lunch time and we highly recommend if you are looking to develop your French during a short period of time.
