This 7 night / 8 day Pilates holiday takes place at Europe's leading Yoga and Pilates Retreat in the Canary Islands, Spain. Designed to help you reconnect with body and mind while you relax and rejuvenate in beautiful surroundings.

Four Pilates retreats are held in this stunning location throughout the year and although the programme focus may vary slightly for each date (please see below for more information), each week has Pilates sessions and/or workshops & discussions twice daily as well as plenty of time to explore the area or simply relax.

The retreat has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere, beautifully decorated rooms and lots of comfy chill-out areas. You can relax with a book in the garden, have a dip in the pool, chat with your fellow guests in the bright open lounge or Spanish courtyard or sit and enjoy the view to the sea from the terrace.

With accommodation options to suit every wish and budget, you are sure to find the right room for you. You have the choice to share a room with your travel partner or, if you are a solo traveller, you can opt for a private room or even choose to share with another solo traveller. All the rooms are beautifully decorated and come with ensuite or shared bathrooms.

After the morning session you will sit down to a delicious homemade brunch including fresh fruit salad, homemade marmalades, homemade bread, homemade yogurt, homemade muesli and homemade granola, a hot dish of the day (eggs, pancakes, porridge) and a choice of drinks including water, coffee, tea and herbal tea.

Five delicious and healthy evening meals are also included within the cost of the course. The evening meals are bursting with flavour and completely in line with the retreat philosophy of providing vibrant, holistic food that guests are inspired to make back home. The cooking is vegetarian, and predominantly vegan and gluten-free.

In between classes, therapies and food you can simply relax around the swimming pool, hot tub or beach, go surfing or explore the island. One return transfer to the beach/Corralejo is included in the price and you can also join excursions to other parts of the island, rent bikes or take a surf course. Also included in your stay is a one hour full body massage – the perfect way to wind down and relax into your holiday.


Suitability
- Suitable for all from complete beginners to those with many years practice of Pilates
- Minimum age 14 (14 - 17 year olds must be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over) with no upper age limit


Travelling solo?
- This retreat is perfect if you are a solo traveller as you can choose to have your own private room for an extra supplement or be placed with another solo traveller of the same sex
- Prices are based on 2 people sharing a bedroom with a shared bathroom but for an extra supplement you can upgrade your room for private use or with an ensuite bathroom; email hello@golearnto.com to see what is available for your chosen dates


Pilates retreat start days
- This retreat runs on 4 set dates during the year and the programme may vary slightly according to the date (details below)
- Accommodation is for 7 nights / 8 days from Saturday to Saturday
- Classes start the evening of your arrival day, so you have the day to arrive and settle

19 January & 27 April - Pilates and Barre with Jo and Laerke
- Through rejuvenating Pilates sessions with Jo, you'll gain an understanding of Pilates on a new level and Laerke's fun Barre and Pilates equipment classes will leave you with a feel-good glow
- Barre compliments Pilates perfectly; Barre is a series of strengthening exercises targeting glutes, core, arms & legs
- This retreat will focus on mat-based Pilates with the use of equipment and there will be 2 Barre sessions during the week

1 June - Pilates with Sabrina
- There will be Pilates classes twice a day, that will also incorporate some aspects of yoga
- They will be group classes are mat based with additional props, such as circles, balls and bands
- Sessions will help you to explore new movement patterns that challenge your strength, balance, flexibility and mind

12 October - Pilates with Joakim
- It's a delight to welcome Joakim, an international teacher in possession of the highest Pilates title available
- Joakim bring his wealth of experience and his positive approach to a fun and focused week of Pilates
- Mat-based Pilates classes and workshops will be for all levels and there will be discussions to deepen your knowledge and awareness of the method and the chance to focus on the concepts of balance, breath and core movement


Typical retreat itinerary
Here is a typical weekly itinerary for each retreat but please note it is for guidance only and may change according to the weather and needs and wishes of the group:

Day 1 – Saturday, arrival day
- Today is your arrival day, check into the retreat any-time after 2pm and take your time to settle in
- In the evening, there may be a evening class and this will be followed by a delicious welcome meal

Day 2-7
- Start each morning with practice followed by a hearty breakfast with the group
- Evening practice is followed by group meals (5 total during your stay)
- Please note on Wednesday there is no afternoon/evening practice; you will have the afternoon free to explore the island and its beaches or simply relax by the pool

Day 8 – Sunday, departure day
- After a final morning yoga session and breakfast, prepare to pack your bags and head back home


About your Pilates instructors
Jo Dombernowsky
- A Pilates instructor and cookbook author, her classes focus strongly on understanding correct form, body awareness and body synergy, giving students the understanding and skill to progress in their Pilates safely and quickly
- Her classes are fun and challenging and compliment the yoga program beautifully.
- She is also a practitioner of Ayurveda and will be available throughout the week to discuss nutrition and ayurveda

Laerke Heilmann
- Lærke grew up in the Danish countryside with parents who aimed to be self-sufficient, her mother teaching her about cooking organic, vegetarian food from a young age and her passion for healthy living grew
- Her background is in ballet and modern dance having studied for years in both Denmark & Brazil
- In Brazil, she had her first experiences with Pilates and saw how beneficial the training was not only to dance but to body awareness
- Since 2009 she has also trained and taught pre and post natal pilates, breast cancer rehab, stability ball, flexband and other Pilates equipment courses and in 2013 she qualified to teach Reformer Pilates and ballet fitness barre

Joakim Valsinger
- Award winning Fitness Instructor, Joakim has Advanced Pilates Qualifications and is also a Sports Therapist
- His studio, Bälans, is the largest studio in Scotland, and provides Pilates for sports professionals as well as classes for post and pre natal
- A Swedish born Australian, Joakim developed an interest in Pilates before gaining first-hand experience of its effectiveness after an injury when he ruptured his Achilles tendon in 2010, Pilates and massage saved his sanity through the long rehabilitation back to full health and he has since taken part in a half marathon and triathlon races
- Joakim trained as a Pilates Instructor with the Pilates Foundation, before qualifying as an Instructor with Body Control Pilates in 2004; he has a Level 4 Lower Back Pain Specialist Pilates accreditation with REPs, and is one of only a few UK teachers invited to study with Lolita San Miguel as part of her PMMP

Sabrina Faith Simpson
- Sabrina grew up in Canada and has been a sport and outdoor enthusiast from a very young age, so if she is not in the Pilates Studio, you will find her walking, running, mountain biking, climbing, skiing or travelling
- She is a Second Generation Master Teacher and Educator trained by Internationally Acclaimed first generation teacher Lolita San Miguel and completed the Pilates Master Mentorship Programme, in Palm Beach Florida in July 2016
- Sabrina's Pilates qualifications also include; Body Control Pilates Matwork, with recognition as a Master Mat Teacher & she also has the Body Control Reformer Certificate, Cadillac Certificate, Chair Certificate, Pregnancy 1 & 2, Pilates for Children Foundation, Pilates for Children Ages 12-16, Pilates for Bone Health (Osteoporosis), Pilates for Golf


What will I learn in my Pilates sessions?
- Pilates practice will be adapted for all levels from complete beginners to advanced
- Teachers will demonstrate modifications and advancements to exercises/poses and classes will be split into ability levels where necessary
- Pilates will be mat based and with small equipment which will be provided
- The teacher will give you personal attention giving you the confidence to develop a home practice


What to bring
- Please bring comfortable clothing you can move in easily for your Pilates practice
- It can be hot in the summer months so please bring clothing that will be suitable for practicing in hot weather
- The retreat supplies yoga mats as well as any additional equipment needed for the specific session


Treatments / massages
- Includes a one-hour full body massage
- Massages and treatments are available and if you wish to book other treatments, your host can help you arrange this with the therapist during the week

Meals
- Daily healthy brunch & lunch comprising of fruits, home-baked bread, cereals and muesli, eggs, salad, teas and juice
- Five evening meals are served during the week, meals are designed and prepared by the in-house nutritionist, Jo

- Award-winning restaurants, an outstanding bakery and a supermarket are just 15 minute walk away and the town of Corralejo is 10 minute drive away
