Course itinerary
Combine a relaxing yoga course with an exciting digital photography course in one of the most inspiring locations in the world.
Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned pro, your yoga classes are designed to leave with the tools necessary to enrich and deepen your practice.
Your photography course is designed to give you a working knowledge of the elements of digital photography including lighting, composition, apertures, shutter speeds and much more. You’ll also learn the basics of photo editing using Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
Experience this tropical paradise through the lens as you go on excursions to stunning photo locations to capture scenery, locals, wildlife and more on this learning holiday with a difference.

- Suitable for all levels from complete beginners to those with experience of yoga and/or photography
- Minimum age 18
Yoga & Photography Class Start Days
- Classes start on Mondays and run year round
- If you book the optional accommodation with this course, you'll check-in on the Sunday before the course starts
What Will I Learn?
Yoga
- You will have 1.5 hours of yoga each day from Monday to Friday each week
- The certified instructors offer a wide variety of approaches including Iyengar based Hatha Yoga, Power Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, and Anusara based classes
- Your yoga teacher will guide you through the postures designed to build strength, stamina, alignment and to rebalance your body after the exertion of surfing
- Enjoy practicing yoga in various settings both in the studio and outside to help you get the most out of your Costa Rica holiday
- Yoga mats are provided or you are welcome to bring your own
Digital Photography
- You will have 9 hours of photography lessons in total from Monday to Friday each week
- You will visit a number of different, inspiring locations to capture your images including the jungle, beaches, waterfalls, towns and more
- The course is designed to give you a working knowledge of the elements of digital photography including lighting, composition, apertures, shutter speeds and much more
- During your days in the studio, you will learn how to edit and enhance your shots using software such as Photoshop and Adobe lightroom
Free Time in Jaco Beach, Costa Rica
Most people on these holidays travel solo as they make great singles holidays and the school organises a host of social & cultural activities to help you get to know your classmates.
Optional Excursions
- There is so much to see and do around the area of Jaco Beach
- You can choose to take a field trip kayaking and snorkelling along the coast and a waterfall hike to the 'Three Pools'
- A variety of marine life can be seen around the reefs including tropical fish, lobster, corals, and much more
- Other optional excursions include visits to the Rainforest or a Crocodile River tour
- You will have plenty of time to kick back on the surf beaches and relax or practice your new found skills
Class Schedule
Yoga
- Yoga and Photography classes take place Monday to Friday each week
- Yoga classes take place at 7am every day apart from Wednesday when they are held at 6.30pm or 8pm
- Your yoga classes last 1.5 hours each
- Yoga classes will be taken on the beach, in the gardens or in the yoga studio
Digital Photography
- You will have 9 hours of Digital Photography classes each week (2 lessons per day)
Equipment
- All equipment needed for yoga will be provided
- Please bring your own digital camera (and manual)
- It is a good idea to bring an extra memory card, a back-up battery for your camera, and portable hard drive or blank DVDs for backing up your files
Other Information
- Wear comfortable clothes that allow movement for your yoga classes
- You may wish to bring additional memory cards for your photographs or a laptop
Optional Accommodation
